2013-02-02_1359768415Our Darth Vader: The Friendship Crisis

People are lonelier than ever. The average American adult reports having only one real friend [1]. Paradoxically, in an age of Facebook and always-on connections, a growing body of science is proving what we already feel deep in our gut: we’re lonely and isolated. The way many of us use the Internet is making the crisis worse.

5 Persistent Blocks That Keep You Playing Small

And I know this to be true – greater awareness equals greater choice.  The question is, now that we have the awareness of what’s holding us back, what are we going to do about it?

How Busy People Find Time to Think Deeply

But how many people budget serious thinking time on their calendar? Few. After all, what would you actually do during time set aside to just “think”? Sit in a chair, stare straight ahead, and ponder the world?

Indeed, it’s not a challenge you confront head-on. As Alain de Botton says, “The mind may be reluctant to think properly when thinking is all it is supposed to do; the task can be as paralyzing as having to tell a joke or mimic an accent on demand.”

Love Note: My Invincible Summer

March 20, 2013

albertcamus

This is my favorite quote of all time. Every single time I read these words, something inside of me gets ignited and the entire store of my courage, strength, wisdom, and love unleashes itself from within. I feel the aliveness of my soul—and stand in the glorious sunshine of my invincible summer.

This is an amazing place to be. From here, I am connected to core of my being, and I know—without a shadow of a doubt—that I can and will rise above anything life throws at me. I will not be beaten. I have what it takes. I am whole and unbroken. I am enough.

Close your eyes for a moment. Take a deep breath. And then take another. Find the source of your own invincible summer. Connect to that place. Where does it reside? Take note of where it lives so you can come back here again and again. Now listen to it…hear what it is saying. What is it telling you? What does it want you to know?

It’s my new program called The Soul-fire Sessions, and I wanted to take a minute to tell you about it here. (I am so excited about this—you can’t even believe!)

So, what are The Soul-fire Sessions? They are a limited-time only opportunity to work with me 1-on-1 in a laser coaching session designed to take you and your life to the next level. It’s you + me spending a half hour talking about how to light your world on fire.

And the best part? It’s absolutely FREE! All you have to do is sign-up.

That’s right. You read that correctly. I am opening up my calendar & making myself available to you, completely gratis, simply because I want to help YOU get into action and start living your most magnificent life. That’s it. No B.S. This is straight from the heart.

I invite you to take advantage of this opportunity, and put yourself at the top of your “To Do” list for once! You’ve got nothing to lose…and your whole life to gain.

To get the rest of the scoop, click here: The Soul-fire Sessions. A head’s up though, the sign-up window closes promptly at midnight Eastern on 3/20/13. Don’t miss out, ‘cause I’m not sure when they’re coming back.

2013-02-02_135976841520 Great Practical Questions to Get the Best Out of Your Life

Questions are the windows to our inner workings. Without questions we are like ships without rudders … we are directionless.  Why not open a window today and allow in some fresh thoughts and inspiration?…..and maybe even provoke some action?

How to Step Up to Challenges Using the ABC’s of Resiliency

There are a few main ways we respond to stress in life. We can give up, put up, or step up.

  •  Giving up is when we succumb to the stressful event and feel defeated.
  • Putting up with a stressful event is accepting it and dealing with it but from a place of distress and reservation.
  • Stepping up is when we bounce back, fully recover and do what it takes to meet the challenge. We may even end up a stronger person.

re-claiming “authenticity”

The work of “living authentically” is not about finding yourself. It’s about removing the obstacles to finding yourself.

It’s an ongoing process. It won’t be done in one fell swoop. Not one of the so-called “thought leaders” that you might look up to right now are “done” with living “authentically.” It’s a practice, a process.

The Key to Living a Soulful Life

Living a soulful life isn’t something that just happens to us. It isn’t like we just look at our life one day and realize that we’re awake – enlightened – present – alive – happy – whole – and at peace.

Definitely not. (At least this isn’t what I’ve experienced.)

Living a soulful life is a moment-to-moment decision that we make.

Fall in Love with Life

It finally dawned on me that I wasn’t living the life I loved, and I certainly wasn’t living powerfully. Fear had driven me into following the ‘right’ path, so as to prove how together I was.

I’d been spending so much time trying to prove to others and myself that I am good enough
